Tuesday: A day at IMC in the life of the 2nd Years - aka “Mentors”

Tuesday was one of the most fun days for the 2nd Year group, I think... We went to a Family Research Library of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They had several volunteers ready to help us. They explained how important it is to gather information about your family while you can, before any of them pass away.

Several of the group whipped out their cell phones to interrogate their parents about family names and dates of birth and death. The bad news about genealogy research was that it is easier to find information about people who have died. I am fortunate in that three of my four grandparents are still alive, but I was able to find my grandpa on the 1910 census in Arkansas. Sharon finally made us leave so we wouldn’t miss lunch at OUHSC with the rest of the campers.

With Dr. Dan the Buffalo at OUHSC
That afternoon we were given a tour of The Oklahoman. They confiscated our bags and cameras before the tour started, so no interesting photos from the tour, but we got a windy group shot out front.
